'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' Dominates the Box Office

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - 'The Hunger Game: Catching Fire', a sequel to 'The Hunger Games', managed to sit on top of the Box Office list after gaining a total revenue of US$161 million during its opening week. BBC News reported that the movie was dubbed as a movie with the most successful opening in history, surpassing The Avengers, Iron Man 3, and Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part II.
The moive, which is an adaptaion of Suzanne Collins's novel, received the highest weekend income.
Paul Dergarabedian, a Box Office analyst from global media corporation Rentrak, stated that the movie was first thought to be intended for lady viewers. However, he added that it eventually drew many attention from the opposite gender, enabling it to earn its great success.
