Persian cats are famous for their exceptionally fluffy and colorful coats. The Cat Fanciers’ Association recognizes seven coat colors for cats, including solid color, silver and golden, shaded and smoke, tabby, parti-color, calico and bicolor, and Himalayan. Here are some popular names for each of these coats.

62. White

White Persian cats are the most sought-after because of their glistening coat. Some popular names for white cats are Frosty, Snowball, Misty, Ivory, and Fluffy.

63. Black

Equally desirable are the black-coated cats. These cats look striking with their contrasting black fur and copper/blue eyes. Shadow, Coal, Ash, Midnight, and Blackie are possible names for a black cat.

64. Blue/ Grey

Persian cats with gray coats became popular after Queen Victoria owned several of them. Their coats are more porous and less shiny. Names like Smokey, Cloudy, Earl Grey, Bluebell, Azul, and Astral are suitable for these kitties.

65. Red

These kitties have coats that are reddish-orange. The color can be a vibrant mahogany or any of several shades of orange down to a pale ginger. Names like Ginger, Amber, Marigold, and Pumpkin are popular for such colored cats.

66. Cream

Unlike white, black, red, blue, and gray, cream-colored cats have light-colored coats that are faintly noticeable. You can name them Champagne, Ecru, Fawn, Azure, and Sable.

67. Silver

Silver Persians are one of the most exquisite sub-breeds. They come in chinchilla and shaded varieties. The eyes of silver or golden Persians are green or blue-green with black rims. You can name silver cats Gin, Jubilee, Plata, Tinsel, or Sterling.

68. Golden

Like the silver Persian, the Golden Persian is exquisite. These cats, however, are difficult to breed and a small part of the color division in the Persian fur colors. Goldie, Buttercup, Brandie, and Honey are popular names for gold-colored kitties.

69. Tabby

A Persian Tabby has a distinctive ‘M’-shaped marking on its forehead. It also has a pattern of stripes, swirls, spots, or blotches of coloration in the fur coat. You can name these cats Garfield, Marbles, Cheetah, Salt and Pepper, and Speckles.

70. Calico

Calico is not a breed but refers to the unique color patterns that these felines have on their fur. They must be tri-colored. Interesting names for calicos include Picasso, Patches, Trinity, and Hazel.

71. Bi-color

A bicolor cat has white fur combined with fur of some other color. People often name such cats Oreo, Checkers, and Polka Dots.

72. Himalayan

The Himalayan Persians are one of the largest and most diverse breeds. They have bright blue eyes with base coats ranging from white to fawn, with coloring restricted to the points. Earthy, Nimbus, Confetti, Onyx, and Guinness are some fitting names for this breed.
