New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers spoke with New York Post sportswriter Ian O'Connor for an upcoming unauthorized biography.

"I requested him right after the trade," O'Connor told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk on Sunday, "and he finally agreed to an interview last month."

"It's an unauthorized bio and Aaron didn't owe me anything, so I appreciated the in-person audience. I had two hours with him so he could respond to what I had learned and what I had been told during my research. He made it a better book."

Rodgers, 40, is working his way back from a torn Achilles suffered in Week 1 of last season. He played his first 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, winning four NFL MVP awards and the Super Bowl in Feb. 11. The Pack traded him to the Jets last year.

Off the field, he's not shy to express his opinions and takes, whether they be on his weekly Pat McAfee Show appearance or another forum.

O'Connor's book, entitled Out of the Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers, will be released on August 20. He's previously written books on Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Derek Jeter and Bill Belichick.
