A teacher from Aberdeen Middle School in Maryland is being investigated by the police after a student received a s*xually explicit video of the teacher via Snapchat. 

The school reported the incident to the Aberdeen Police Department on Monday morning. Officers responded immediately and gathered evidence while ensuring the safety of the reporting student. 

The police spokesperson stated that the student had informed the faculty about receiving s*xually explicit material on a cellphone device through Snapchat. 

Detectives are currently investigating the circumstances of the video’s distribution and are determining if any criminal charges will be filed.

The art teacher has been placed on administrative leave with pay while the investigation is ongoing.

The school district released a statement to parents of Aberdeen Middle School students on Monday evening, acknowledging the incident and assuring that a thorough investigation was underway with the School Resource Officer (SRO) and the Aberdeen Police Department.

A parent of a former Aberdeen Middle School student expressed dismay over the police investigation into the art teacher. Keith Williams stated that it was appalling to hear that such incidents were happening in the school system.
