Adele is no stranger to the limelight. She has achieved great success in her music career and earned multiple Grammys. 

But she has been far less comfortable speaking of her personal life, particularly when it comes to her son, Angelo. 

Now that Angelo is growing up quickly, Adele is even more determined to keep him away from the prying eyes of paparazzi and photographers.

Recently, a legal battle between the singer and a couple of celebrity photographers emerged after they took photos of Angelo in a park near his home.

According to Vulture, Adele was “furious” with them for taking photos without her permission and sued them for breach of privacy. 

As illustrations from Adele’s recent Vogue cover story show, she takes her role as protector seriously. 

She doesn’t want him exposed to unnecessary scrutiny or potential judgment by strangers.

She says it’s hard enough being famous without having your child subjected to a public opinion too; “What if he wants to smoke weed or drink underage…and then he’s photographed and that’s how I find out?”

In addition to Adele wanting privacy for Angelo, there is also the safety issue when photographing kids without parental consent.

In California specifically, it is illegal for any person or organization (including news outlets) to publish identifying information – such as photographs – about minors without parental consent.

This includes images taken on public property where no reasonable expectation of privacy exists. 

For many celebrities with young children living in Los Angeles, protecting them from intrusive paparazzi can be a daily challenge that requires vigilance and often legal intervention, but this hasn’t deterred Adele from doing whatever she can for Angelo’s safety and security. 

It’s understandable why photos of her son have gone viral frequently, due not just to his cute looks but also because we all recognize that every parent should have a right to protect their children from unwanted attention

From the first, Adele’s love for her son Angelo is clear. In a 2015 Rolling Stone interview, she raved about him, saying that all of her best attributes were drawn out by him. 

His presence was even more appreciated because he was the only one who stood up to her; everyone else deferred to her as she was the leader.

In 2012 when Angelo was born, happiness surrounded his entrance into the world. A family source commented on his birth’s joy, saying, “We are all over the moon.” 

Adele hadn’t made any public announcements about her pregnancy until June 2012, when she finally released a statement on her website letting people know and asking for their privacy.

While it took time for Adele to be comfortable sharing news about her pregnancy and baby boy with everyone, it is clear that there is no denying how much he means to her by now.
