Andy Mientus husband Michael Arden is a theatre film director. Michael is known for directing the musical Spring Awakening.

In 2016, he directed two musicals titled My Fair Lady and Merrily We Roll Along. He also directed the play The Pride which is originally from Alexi Kaye Campbell's drama of the same name. The production was showcased at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills. 

His other directorial roles include Once on This Island, Annie, and Maybe Happy Ending. 

Apart from being a director, he is also an actor and has appeared in several films and television shows. Michael is recognized for portraying the role of Patrick in the series Anger Management. 

His other acting credits include Grey's Anatomy, Bride Wars, The Good Wife, and The Mentalist.

His Musical Career 

Arden has showcased his versatility in several forms one of them is singing. He has been part of several musicals where he mesmerized the audience with his melodic vocals. 

In 2003, he appeared in the musical Big River where he played the role of Tom Swayer and the production was his Broadway debut. In 2015, he performed the song Out There from Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame. 

He performed The Streets of Dublin from the musical A Man of No Importance at the 2019 DGF Gala.  He has been part of other Broadway and regional musicals such as Bare, Ace, and The Secret Garden.

He Is Also The Founder of The Forest of Arden

The Forest of Arden is a diverse company that includes multi-disciplinary artists, musicians, writers, and designers, who work together to achieve a common goal by planning site-specific works that inspire delights and challenges. 

In 2020, the members of the company released a project named American Dream Study. The project showcased the dreams of the company during the time of the pandemic.

The American Dream Study included dance, theatre, music, and documentary.
