Belgian Goalkeeper dies video has taken the internet by storm. 

Arne Espeel, a 25-year-old Belgian goalkeeper, tragically lost his life on Saturday, 11th February 2023 while playing for amateur team Winkel Sport B. 

The team was playing against Westrozebeke when their opponents were awarded a penalty in the second half. 

Espeel heroically saved the penalty, but immediately after, he collapsed on the pitch and dropped to the ground. Despite efforts from medical personnel and his teammates, he was declared dead after being taken to the hospital. 

The cause of death of the goalkeeper remains unknown.

The incident shocked the local community, with more than 1,000 people gathering to pay their respects to the young footballer on Monday. 

Espeel had been with Winkel Sport all his life and was deeply loved by everyone who knew him. “This is a disaster and a shock to everyone,” said Patrick Rotsaert, the sporting director of Winkel.

“He was a wonderfully sympathetic boy, always in a good mood and ready to help. This is really a heavy blow, first of all for his family and also our whole club.”

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of Espeel’s death, but for now, the community is left mourning the loss of a talented and kind-hearted young athlete
