Personal Statement

My name is Brady Austin.  I am a student athlete at Smithtown High School West in New York and a member of the 2025 graduating class.

As long as I can remember, I have possessed a passion for the game of baseball.  I work constantly to be  the best I can be because baseball is an important part of my life.  What makes me different from other recruits is that I love hard work.  Commitment, dedication, focus, and sacrifice are a few words I attribute to my success both on the field and in the classroom.  I believe having those personal attributes are important characteristics to achieving success and being the best I can be.  I understand that success is a process and I seek any opportunity to work hard and improve my skills and abilities.  I believe that success is earned and having that mindset has  provided me the ability to overcome adversity.

In addition to school baseball, I play travel baseball with the Long Island Body Armor Titans.  As a member of the Titans organization, I train year-round with athletes from the tri-state area while playing games and tournaments nine months of the year (March through November).  I am a left-handed pitcher, centerfielder, and first baseman.  I love to compete as an athlete and have played other sports competitively including basketball and volleyball.

I am a strong student and serious about always putting forth my best effort when it comes to academics and related school activities.  To date, I have achieved High Honors, the highest-level honor roll, in every marking period of middle school and high school by maintaining a 4.0 GPA or higher.  I am currently a member of the National Junior Honor Society which is an accomplishment that I am proud.

Playing baseball for many years has already taught me many life lessons.  My work ethic, physical skills and leadership abilities make me an excellent collegiate recruit.   I look forward to the opportunity to continue to develop as a student athlete at the highest collegiate level.
