Personal Statement

I am currently a high school senior with a GPA of 3.93.  I have strived through my high school years to work hard in my academic success. My goal throughout high school is to continue to work hard to maintain my grade point average.  I have also taken numerous college classes during my junior and senior year to prepare myself for the college level of academics.

I have played football since I was eight years old.  I have enjoyed the challenges football brings to my life.  I am willing and wanting to challenge myself to the next level not only in football but academics as well.  Playing college football would be a dream come true.

I am a quick learner.  I strive to push myself to be the best I can be. Football is my favorite sport.  I enjoy a team coming together and being as one on the field.  I enjoy my coaches pushing me so I can be the best player both on and off the field.

After my sophomore year in high school I was accepted by the Utah Lion's club to represent the United States in a leadership course held in Finland.  During the 6 weeks of the summer months, I was interacting with students from all over the world.  The concept was to have youth throughout the world work together and learn each others customs and ideals of leadership.  This was very challenging for me due to it being the first time away from home but also interacting with other cultures.  It gave me an opportunity to really appreciate why the United States is a leader of the world.

While I was gone in Europe during the summer I was unable to attend the summer football workouts.  I worked hard on my own to maintain my physical condition.  I made the choice to leave for the summer and I had to accept not starting varsity football my junior year.  I set a goal when I got back to work hard and earn a starting job on varsity by the end of the season.  Half way through the year I accomplished my goal and started as a defensive back.

My future goal I have set for myself is to continue my education and become a physician.
