Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Carter Hogan and I'm a midfielder/faceoff guy from Omaha Nebraska. I don't come from a hotbed area for lacrosse, but that has made me different from other recruits in many ways. I've had to teach myself a lot of things by just trial and error. It has made me very versatile because I play almost every minute of a game. I can play defense and offense and take faceoffs. It has also helped me to become very coachable, I soak up information very fast and apply it to my game whenever I can when I get feedback from anyone with lots of knowledge. Sharing this knowledge with my teammates was a struggle for me at first because I'm a quiet person. However, I grew into that leadership role when my high school team needed me. I've learned that to be a good leader you have to serve your team, not have your team serve you. I am not a flashy player, I'm humble and I just like making the right play. I love doing the dirty work, battling at the faceoff, getting ground balls, and finding teammates for open looks. I'm a win at all costs type of player, even if it is at the expense of my personal success. I work very hard, not only on my lacrosse specific skills but also on my speed and strength in the weight room. As far as college goes, the most important thing for me is finding a school that has a good engineering program, as that is my preferred major. I love lacrosse but I know that ultimately my education is more important. Thank you for reading, please watch my videos and send me a message. Thank You!
