She sadly passed away on February 4, 2023. Lung cancer was the cause of death of Cassi Davis. Her funeral services, location, and time, are still unknown.
Cassi was also known as Betty Ann “Aunt Bam” Murphy in the franchise since 2010. Under the direction of Tyler Perry, she has appeared in many other productions.
She was born on July 31, 1964, in Holly Springs, North Carolina. Cassi studied music at Spelman College in Atlanta but quit college after completing only one credit because she was prohibited from playing religious music at her senior recital.
However, in 2008 she returned to Spelman in order to finish her degree, receiving her diploma in November of that year.
Cassi has stated that the vital factor in her success as a professional is her newly-found Christian faith. Cassi made her acting debut as a supporting character in the Spike Lee comedy movie School Daze in 1988.
In her early television career, she made guest appearances on Living Single, Married with Children, Kenan & Kel, and The PJs.
