Robison’s music career took off in 1996 with the release of his debut studio album Bandera. He went on to release several more albums including Life of the Party and Step Right Up, which both made the US charts.
Aside from his music career, Robison was a judge for season one of the reality TV series Nashville Star. He also opened up the Alamo Icehouse in 2014 with Brooks Kieschnick, a professional baseball player.
Robison was married to Emily Erwin from The Dixie Chicks from 1999 to 2008. His brother is singer/songwriter Bruce Robison.
