Personal Statement

My name is Colin Flood. I play for the Artesia Bulldogs in Artesia, NM.  My collegiate goals are to excel at playing football in high school and continue that goal to the college level.   My set determination, drive and passion for football and learning has and will continue to help me accomplish this goal.   I believe in a team mentality, no one succeeds on their own in sports.  We all must work as a team by helping and encouraging one another to get the best out of each other.  I have been told I am very coachable and am a quick study for football offense and defensive systems. My present football coaching staff had me learn there a whole new defensive system in less than two months time and instilled enough confidence in my football knowledge to allow me to call out defensive signals to all varsity defense as a sophomore.  

I am committed to both my academics and improving myself as a player. I know in doing so I put in my contribution to help my team be successful each week. When I am in the classroom, gym, training or on the field, I do it with dedication and determination knowing that it will improve me to be a better person overall.

I am currently starting and playing as a linebacker for the Artesia Bulldogs in Artesia, New Mexico. Artesia has won 29 state championships.  My team did go to the state championship with a new coach for this season.  

I believe every experience is opportunity to learn and grow as a player and a student.  I believe my leadership and athletic skills driven by my determination and willingness to learn will make a good fit at the college level.  I am approach a junior season at Artesia High School and will update highlights as season starts up.
