Personal Statement

I definitely know that want to go to college, and although I haven't narrowed down my area of focus within my major; I'd like to major in music, since I have enjoyed playing the soprano clarinet since the first grade, and I am currently learning to play the alto saxophone.  I would like to teach music to students at the high school or university level.  In addition to teaching music, I would also like to continue swimming (possibly at a professional level), and even coaching and training other people to swim at the conclusion of my athletic career.  I am currently swim captain for Rufus King International Baccalaureate High School's varsity swim team.  I have been on the varsity team since my freshman year.  I have been swimming since I was three years old, and competing since the fifth grade with the Piranha’s competitive swim team during the the off season.  I have dreams of becoming an Olympic caliber swimmer, and I know that swimming at the college level would definitely help me to succeed. I know that my musical capabilities coupled with swimming talents will allow me to go far in life, and help others to do the same!
