David Ludden is an American historian and a published author. He currently teaches history at New York University and has previously given lectures at a number of colleges.

He was appointed as an associate professor in 1987 and the head of the university’s South Asian Regional Studies department in 1999.

He was able to hold numerous positions with ease, including director of the Fullbright Senior Scholars programs, the Social Science Research Council, and the South Asia academic programs at the University of Pennsylvania.

From 2002 to 2003, he served as the Association for Asian Studies president. He was hired as a visiting professor for developmental research at BRAC university in Dhaka in 2005.

Currently, David is a Political Economy and Globalization professor at New York University.

Besides being a professor, David Ludden is also an author. From 1997 to 2000, he had the opportunity to work as an editor for the Critical Histories book series at the University of Pennsylvania Press.

He has authored numerous works, including An Agrarian History of South Asia and India and South Asia: A Short History.

He has written essays, articles, monographs, and other types of writing on several projects. He has received numerous honors for his excellent career, including different types of writing.
