Dogmeat is the dog companion in Fallout 4. Dogmeat’s Location

He can be found a short while after you start playing. When you leave Sanctuary Hills, go south-east and you’ll bump into a Red Rocket gas station. The dog will be sniffing around the gas pumps. He doesn’t have a quest tied to him.

Abilities & Perks

Abilities: As with all melee fighters, his greatest strength is that he doesn’t miss often. He also acts as a tank, attracting the attention of enemies more easily.
Perk: None. There is a perk in your perks list that affects him, though – Attack Dog. He also doesn’t count as a companion in regards to the Lone Wanderer perk, so you can have your cake and eat it there (thanks Disconnected!).

How To Increase Affection

Dogmeat starts with maximum affinity level reached. You don’t have to do anything to make him like you, and whatever you do, he won’t like you less for it. He truly is man’s best friend.
