The Philadelphia Eagles have completely revamped their quarterback depth chart behind Jalen Hurts going into the 2024 season.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Eagles are signing Will Grier to a one-year deal.

Grier's addition comes after the Eagles acquired Kenny Pickett and a 2024 fourth-round draft pick from the Pittsburgh Steelers for a 2024 third-round draft pick and two seventh-rounders in 2025.

Grier hasn't appeared in a game since his rookie season with the Carolina Panthers in 2019. He went 0-2 in two starts with no touchdowns and four interceptions.

After being released by the Panthers near the end of the preseason in 2021, Grier was claimed off waivers by the Dallas Cowboys. He was their No. 3 quarterback behind Dak Prescott and Cooper Rush.

When Prescott missed five games during the 2022 season due to a fractured thumb, Grier was elevated to the active roster from the practice squad. The 28-year-old was the backup to Rush for those games, but he never got on the field.

The Cowboys waived Grier in August 2023 after acquiring Trey Lance from the San Francisco 49ers. He went 29-of-35 for 305 yards and accounted for four total touchdowns in a 31-16 win preseason win over the Las Vegas Raiders in what turned out to be his final game in Dallas.

Grier was signed to the practice squad for the Cincinnati Bengals after being released by the Cowboys. His stint with them lasted less than one month after the New England Patriots signed him to their 53-man roster.

The Patriots waived Grier and re-signed him to their practice squad in November. He was signed to the 53-man roster by the Los Angeles Chargers on Dec. 19 after Justin Herbert suffered a fractured finger that kept him out for the rest of the season.

Hurts, Marcus Mariota and Tanner McKee were Philadelphia's top three quarterbacks last season. Mariota signed with the Washington Commanders as a free agent on March 14.

McKee, a sixth-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft, remains on the roster. He will likely be competing with Grier for the No. 3/emergency quarterback job throughout the offseason.
