East Alabama tornado watch Georgia severe weather today

There was a tornado watch earlier for east Alabama.
ATLANTA — A severe weather threat is receding and giving way to normal showers.
A tornado watch had been issued earlier Tuesday morning for east Alabama, and the same system threatened to bring severe weather over central Georgia,.

11Alive meteorologist Wes Peery has been tracking the system all morning, and now reports that things are now settling into a more normal pattern.
We've been tracking the weather throughout the morning as it moves across the region.
10:30 a.m.: The tornado watch will expire in Alabama in about a half hour, as the storm system moves over Georgia it could still bring strong weather into the afternoon, including isolated gusty wind speeds.
9:10 a.m.: Stronger bands are moving through the south part of the metro. Check the latest conditions at the 11Alive radar.
8:50 a.m.: 11Alive meteorologist provides this update as the storms move into western Georgia:
8:30 a.m.: Severe weather risk has been upgraded for parts of Georgia. Wind gusts up to 60mph could be possible all over north Georgia, while isolated tornadoes remain possible primarily south of I-20.
8:15 a.m.: Wes points to around 9 a.m. as when the rain will be moving over the metro:
8:00 a.m.: In Alabama, the National Weather Service Storm Prediction center notice says "a couple" tornadoes are possible, with the threat of scattered damaging wind gusts up to 70mph possible and potential "large hail events."
"A cluster of storms with embedded supercells and bowing segments will move eastward across central Alabama through the morning," the NWS says. "The threat for damaging gusts and a couple of tornadoes will increase some as it warms and moistens at the surface through the morning."
