COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — Several residents were evacuated after a heavy fire broke out a College Park apartment complex on Friday morning, according to Fire Chief Wade Elmore.
It happened at the complex located on 2200 Godby Road just after 11 a.m. According to Google Maps, this is the address for the Nirvana Cranbrook townhouse complex.
Several other fire departments were called to help put out the fire.
When firefighters arrived, the building was in flames. All residents were evacuated from the building. No one was injured, according to Elmore.
Authorities added that the fire was contained to two apartment units. Firefighters were able to save 11 other units before the fire could spread.
It is unclear how many families or residents are without a home. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
