Personal Statement
Although I am only in ninth grade, I constantly think about what I would like to achieve when I am an adult. At this moment, I can see my- self attending college and playing softball. Currently, I think I would do well in Business, Education, or Health Care Services. I can see myself running a business, teaching kids, or assisting in rehabilitation of an athlete's injury. I know things can change as I grow older and attend high school.
So what makes Gaby Garcia different from other prospects? I'm a very spiritual person who thinks of others before myself. I love attending church and surrounding myself with those who want to help others. I am also an ardent fan of my teams and my teammates. Their success and happiness makes me very happy. Not only am I a very spiritual and faithful person, I am also extremely dedicated to academics. I strive to make the best grades possible as well as show that I can be a great citizen in class. I want to be a student that allows the teachers to feel they are making an impact.
In athletics, I play several sports and do extremely well; however, softball is my passion. Softball is a sport that I look forward to playing and practicing. I am known as the kid who always has a smile on her face. As a catcher, I know I have an extremely important job , and I lead the team with confidence and not cockiness. (My parents have driven that attitude in my mind for years: confidence not cockiness). I am working hard to add more positions to my tool-belt, such as short-stop, second base , and first base. I want to be the player that specializes in catching but can fill the void when my coaches and team need me. I am also working on improving my speed in running as well as throwing.
