Heinz Hermann Thiele is a German entrepreneur and owner of Knorr-Bremse AG, the world’s top producer of braking systems for rail and commercial vehicles. Thiele started his career as a legal clerk at Knorr-Bremse in 1969 and became the Chairman of the board of directors in 1987 after accumulating a significant portion of company equity. He is an Honorary Citizen of the Hungarian city of Kecskemet since November 2005.
Thiele sits on the advisory board since 2011 and gave a portion of the company to his children, Julia and Henrik. He also holds 25% of the international leader in railway market Vossloh. Thiele spends his time in hiking, skiing, animal photography and philanthropic work, which brings him various awards.
