James Drury, best known for his title role in the Western TV series “The Virginian”, had a net worth of $1.5 million at the time of his death in April 2020.
Drury was born in New York City in 1934 and spent his childhood dividing his time between Manhattan and Oregon, where his mother ran a ranch. He made his stage debut at the age of eight and pursued acting while studying at New York University. He was signed by MGM in 1954 but his contract lapsed after he only landed small roles. He later appeared in secondary roles for Walt Disney before landing his leading role on “The Virginian” in 1962, which ran for nine seasons.
After the show ended, Drury was not seen much on screen except for his lead role on the short-lived series “Firehouse” in 1974. Drury passed away in April 2020 at the age of 85.
