Personal Statement
Playing soccer in college has always been a dream of mine. Since as long as I can remember, I wanted to experience the life of a college soccer player first hand. The idea of playing in front of all the faculty, students, my friends and family on a weekly basis has always excited me. For me, there's no better feeling than making your school proud, as well as the ones closest to you in your life. I also aspire to get the best education possible in the classroom. Ultimately, I want to make the most out of my college experience. I hope to make many new friendships with faculty, teammates, coaches and students, as well as get the best education in the classroom and make a name for myself on the soccer field.
In my opinion, I think I would be a good addition to any team. I pride myself in my work ethic first. I work hard for my teammates and coaches, leaving everything out on the field. Whether it means getting stuck into tackles, winning a dispossessed ball back for my team, making countless runs or throwing my body on the line to block a shot, I lead by example for the rest of my teammates. In addition, I have to also pride myself on my attitude. I bring a positive attitude to the field. My mentality is a winning one and I attribute this to my positive attitude. I am constantly vocal, encouraging my teammates around me and I think that is what makes me stand out on the field compared to other players. Aside from my character, I am blessed to have a very keen eye for picking out passes and runs by other players, as well as very good technical ability.
Academically, I am a leader in the classroom as well. I am vocal just as I am on the field and have great relationships with my teachers like I do with my coaches. I think I exemplify a student athlete well. I put my studies first, as it should be done. Moreover, I take pride in my grades and work hard to maintain a high standard. One of my aspirations, is to receive the best college education possible. This of course starts with working hard throughout high school and I've done just that.
