Personal Statement
The primary collegiate goal that I have, is to attend a school that is respected academically, and to earn a degree in my chosen field of study. In addition, I have a passion for football, and am focused on playing college football while earning my degree. I believe that my team first approach, is a character trait that makes me a valuable asset for any college program that gives me an opportunity. I place value on being humble and coachable. If you were to ask any of the coaches that I've played for, they would tell you that I take coaching well, and work hard to apply what I learn to the next rep, snap or series.
Some strengths that separate myself from other recruits are my work ethic, intelligence and leadership abilities. I give all that I have to everything that I'm involved in. This is evidenced in the gains that I've made in the weightroom this past off season, the improvement that I have made as a football player from my freshman, to junior seasons, and the GPA that I maintain (while taking Honors and AP courses). In addition to being intelligent in the classroom, I also possess a tremendous sports IQ. I regularly diagnose situations during film sessions, practices and games, and then position myself, communicate with teammates (as well as positioning teammates, at times) so that the team can improve our on-field play and win games. These examples also serve as evidence of my leadership capabilities.
In closing, I appreciate having the opportunity to share a little bit about myself. I look forward to improving during the time I have remaining at Brother Rice High School. I'm excited about our coaching staff, the talent we have, and look forward to helping our team reach its goals.
