Running back Karlos Williams found a new home on Wednesday, signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice squad.
The Steelers announced the move on Wednesday, where he'll slot behind Le'Veon Bell, DeAngelo Williams and Fitzgerald Toussaint. Williams signed with Pittsburgh after the Buffalo Bills cancelled a workout with him on Oct. 6, according to Joe Buscaglia of WKBW.
Williams, 23, was excellent for the Bills in his rookie season, rushing for 517 yards and seven touchdowns as LeSean McCoy's backup. But he had a tumultuous offseason, showing up to minicamp overweight and earning a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
It makes sense for the Steelers to bring Williams and his 5.6 yards per carry back into the fold and hope they strike gold on a low-risk deal. He has potential, is a big-play threat every time he touches the ball and, when he's in shape, could be a valuable weapon in Pittsburgh.
