Katherine Jenkins Net Worth
Welsh mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins has a net worth of $21 million. She emerged as Britain’s all-time best-selling classical artist in her mid-twenties, although some critics attributed her success to her physical beauty rather than musical talent. Jenkins fell in love with classical music at the age of 7, studying piano and singing in her local choir. She joined the Royal School of Church Music Cathedral Singers and the National Youth Choir of Wales before being accepted into London’s Royal Academy of Music at 17. She supplemented her income as a fashion model after winning the Face of Wales modeling contest, but in 2003, she signed a six-album, seven-figure recording contract with Universal Classics, the largest classical deal in U.K. music industry history.
Jenkins’ debut album, Premiere, topped the classical music charts in 2004, and her first two albums propelled her to commercial success. She recorded a classical rendition of Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You” in 2005 and topped the U.K. classical and album charts with Serenade in 2006. Sacred Arias (2008) was her last album for Universal before transitioning to Warner Bros for the more contemporary Believe (2009) and Daydream (2011). Jenkins released her first official holiday album, This is Christmas, in 2012.
