Personal Statement
I don't think I could have ever imagined how far softball has taken me in my life. The first time I picked up a ball I fell in love with the sport. I know I can make an ideal addition to any team, I am very coachable and have been told throughout my entire life that I am a natural leader. I always give 100% to everything I do, because what is the point of doing something if you're not going to give it your all? I am on the official roster for my high school team and my travel team, Valley Storm, but I am often found and asked to guest-play for teams, including the Batters Box and Mass Rapids Gold. I was asked last-minute to travel to Ohio and Rhode Island with the Rapids and I am so thankful for that experience!
When I am not playing, you can count on finding me helping coach the younger teams from my organization, giving private catching lessons, or holding clinics. It has always been my dream to pass my love for the sport to young girls in hopes they'll do the same. I am also an Umpire! I decided to get certified to official to understand the game that much more, from a different perspective.
Outside of softball, I volunteer through the Franklin County's YMCA Leaders club, along with clubs through my school, such as Key Club and the Environmental Science Club. I also work for the Franklin County YMCA where I hold "Sports Sampler classes" for little kids until tournament season started. Over the summer, I full-time Nanny for one of the families from said class! Currently, I work at the Y in the "after school" program along with many other events!
In school, I work hard and have almost always been a part of the Honor Roll. I am currently enrolled in AP Statistics and Advanced European history and have maintained steady grades so far!
Currently, I am planning to go into Sports Management in hopes of becoming an Athletic Director along with coaching. A long-term dream I have is to build and/or run a sports facility! Being able to provide access for athletes of all sports would certainly help me feel fulfilled in life!
