After rapper Fat Joe said that Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant was almost attacked following a basketball game at New York City's Rucker Park, the star responded Thursday, calling the story false.
"Another podcast lie," Durant said in response to a clip from Roommates Show posted on X. "It was nothing but respect and love out there that night, didn't feel unsafe for one second."

Fat Joe said on the podcast Durant's high-scoring performance led to him being chased out of the park.
"He scored like 82 points in the third quarter," the rapper said. "He don't like me telling this story. They chased him out the Rucker, like they wanted to beat him up."
While it may have been an interesting story, Durant quickly called it a tall tale.
While the story of the 14-time All-Star being chased out of Rucker Park may be false, the claims of his absurd scoring numbers at the legendary blacktop court are not.
KD left his mark on Rucker Park in the summer of 2011 during the NBA's lockout.
Durant—along with many other NBA players—joined Pro-Am teams to entertain fans. One of the most famous games from that period was his 66-point performance when he was playing for the DC Power in the Entertainers Basketball Classic.
While Durant is more than a decade removed from that legendary performance, one thing remains the same: He is still one of the league's most prolific scorers. This season, he is putting up 27.2 points per game for the Suns.
Alongside co-stars Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, he is gearing up for what he hopes will be a deep playoff run. Phoenix is the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference and is looking to close out the season with a pair of wins to potentially overtake the New Orleans Pelicans for the No. 6 seed and avoid a play-in tournament appearance.
If Durant can channel the same mentality he had at Rucker Park this postseason, the Suns could be in for a big showing.
