Leon Allen, affectionately known as “8-Ball”, was born on June 29, 1950 to the late Thelma Louise Allen Lomax Winslow in Norfolk, Virginia. He is pre-deceased by his siblings: sister Veronica Winslow, brothers Raymond (Butch) Lomax, Theodore (Blackjack) Allen, Eugene (Blue) Allen, Napoleon (Ronnie) Allen.
Leon was a student of the Norfolk Public School System and graduated from Maury High School. He held several jobs; including, working at Kempsville Building Material and the Virginian Pilot Newspaper. Leon enjoyed spending his free time at the Merrimack Market and loved to watch his favorite football teams play – the Minnesota Vikings and the Las Vegas Raiders.
Leon leaves to carry on his legacy: daughter Vicki Lissette Pearson of Dunwoody, GA; son Olmec “Victor” Leon Anderson of Dunwoody, GA; daughter Tomeka Forbes of District Heights, MD; daughter Tamara Charity of Corryton, TN; grandchildren Tru Anderson, Noah Stovall, Lake Stovall, Forrest Stovall, Tashad Charity and Kenny Forbes; siblings Evelyn Roscoe (Richard) of Capron, VA; Ernestine Mildred Cojoe of Raleigh NC; Richard Allen of Norfolk, VA; Milton (Cora) Allen of Jacksonville, FL; Thomas Allen of Norfolk, VA; Audrey Sands of Portsmouth, VA; James Winslow of Chesapeake, VA; and Melvinice Jones of Norfolk, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, and extended relatives and friends.
