Personal Statement

My long term goal since Junior High School was and still is, to play volleyball at the collegiate level as a setter.  Since then, this goal has evolved to becoming a member of a collegiate team which will allow me to maximize my potential as an athlete, teammate, and as a student.  My father walked on to a college basketball program as a point guard only because he was willing to make sacrifices that other players wouldn't .  He has instilled in me that same attribute of doing things that other players won't do to make myself and my team better.  I have a natural ability  to help my teammates succeed by making sure that I am always positive and willing to sacrifice whatever is needed to make myself and the team win.  My desire to grow as a player and student gives me the focus to maintain a top 6 ranking in my school academically, earn my varsity letter as a freshman, keep a job so that I can pay for volleyball camps and strength and conditioning coaching, participate on club volleyball teams, and help babysit my two younger brothers and sister.

I know that if given the opportunity there is nothing I will not do in order to  become an excellent example of what a student athlete and teammate should be.  I will lead by example, and will exceed expectations because I love to be coached and I love learning!
