Personal Statement

I learned to play golf when I was nine years old.  My favorite part of the game was the constant challenge it presented.  I still enjoy driving myself to improve.  No matter how well I play today I know I can work on some aspect of my game and get better.

My strongest trait is my work ethic.  I practice nearly every day, no matter the weather or other inconveniences.  In the off season I practice twice each week with my private coach, I go to a heated outdoor range or I use the net in my garage.  Being dedicated and disciplined is the best way to improve.

Although golf is an individual sport I truly enjoy being part of a team.  Helping others achieve and relying on them to help pick me up so we can all be part of something bigger makes me feel fulfilled.  I am coachable.  I look to my coaches and teammates to help me figure out what to work on next.

The discipline I exhibit on the range and on the course extend to the classroom.  I work hard for the good grades I have and I am proud of what I have accomplished.  I love the challenge of learning and I want to make sure my college will present an opportunity to grow academically.

Playing college golf has been a dream since I started with the game.  Pushing myself and competing at a high level against other great players motivates me.
