The Great New Year Bake Off cast for 2024 brings back former contestants who didn’t quite win, but won over our hearts with their personalities. One of them is Maggie, a 70-year-old baker who was eliminated after she forgot to put flour in her sticky toffee pudding, as well as Mark, Maxy and Jürgen.
Paul Hollywood‘s handshake is the ultimate winner, but four contestants are coming back to take home the baking crown. The Great British Bake Off is back on our screens following its popular Christmas special, but this time to bring in the new year. Maggie, Mark, Maxy and Jürgen are returning.

Father and baker Mark, from Liverpool, starred on Bake Off in 2020. He launched a micro-bakery after appearing on the Channel 4 show, calling it Roles & Holes, specialising in cinnamon rolls and donut holes.

Job: Retired midwife and nurse
Maggie made history as the eldest contestant to star on Bake Off, and she’s being given a second chance after she forgot to put flour in her sticky toffee pudding, which she was eliminated after.

Maxy is a Bake Off quarter-finalist for the 2022 season. Born in Sweden, she is a DIY lover, mom of two and South Londoner who taught herself to bake. Her cooking is a celebration of family tradition.

Jurgen, who was inspired by his wife’s recipes on Bake Off, moved to the UK in 2003 and now lives with his wife and son overlooking the sea. He launched his own book on German Baking after the show!
