Esther Shaw Payton, 80, of Chesapeake, Virginia, entered the gates of heaven in her sleep on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at her home. She was born April 15, 1938, in South Carolina to the late Corine Mack Clark and Samuel Peterson. Early in her lift she met and married the late Wilbert E.
