Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Natalie Dougherty - I am 16 years old and in the midst of my junior year at Arlington Catholic High School. When I was thirteen (eighth grade) I got the opportunity to play at the high school level. Being the only middle schooler on the team I learned to be very competitive. By sophomore year I worked hard to get myself a spot on varsity, and by junior year I was thrilled to be on the team again. While our high school season consisted of twenty matches this year, when on the court - I was giving it my all. Now that the season is almost over, I am back at a club to improve my skills. While tournaments are still uncertain, I am using this time as an opportunity to practice and improve for the next season to come. Although 2021 has been an unsettling year, I try to find the positive on how it has made me a better player. I am beyond excited to keep improving, and advancing as the next couple months go by, and to be back at it for next season!!

Something that sets me apart, would be my ability to self-motivate, rapidly learn, and work hard to get to a pursued goal. If you consider me to be apart of your team, you can be assured that I always strive to improve. I am very coachable, and I love to be a positive teammate. Not only am I a dedicated volleyball player, but I am a very dedicated student who will strive to accomplish my goal.
