The former UFC stars will fight in Anaheim's Honda Center on July 6.
Diaz and Masvidal have fought before, at UFC 244 on November 2, 2019. Masvidal won the BMF title following a third-round TKO due to a doctor's stoppage.
Now the former UFC stars will be fighting again, this time in the boxing ring.
Masvidal, 39, went 35-17 as a professional MMA fighter. He's best known for registering the fastest knockout in UFC history (five seconds) after taking down Ben Askren in July 2019. Masvidal fought twice for the UFC welterweight belt but lost each time to Kamaru Usman. He's also a four-time Performance of the Night winner.
Masvidal has fought once in the boxing ring, but it's been a while. He won a four-round professional bout against Joseph Benjamin by majority decision in June 2005.
Diaz, 39, went 21-13 lifetime. He's earned wins over some big names, including Conor McGregor, Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone, Jim Miller and Tony Feguson. He fought for the lightweight belt against Benson Henderson in 2012 but fell via unanimous decision.
Diaz most recently took on Jake Paul in a professional boxing fight last August, losing the 10-round battle by unanimous decision.
