Deniz Undav's double in the 6-0 demolition of Wolves were his first Premier League goals since signing from Brighton's Belgian sister club Union Saint-Gilloise.

Earlier this season, Undav had been linked with a return to Belgium or a loan to the Championship with Blackburn Rovers, Sunderland or West Bromwich Albion after struggling for regular minutes.

Billy Gilmour has also spent long periods out of the team since signing from Chelsea last summer. He too impressed in the win against Wolves on Saturday.

De Zerbi reflected on both fringe players following the win: "After the game I must admit possibly in the past I have made some mistakes with (Gilmour) and Undav, because I did not give them possibility to play.

"(Undav) is one of my biggest problems in Brighton and I want to explain why.

"He has big potential, he has big quality but it seems like he doesn’t believe in himself," continued the Italian manager.

"I am sorry for him, he deserves more from this season. I like him, his team-mates like him, but he has to help himself more.”
