2. Konosuka Takeshita vs. Will Ospreay, AEW Revolution
Will Ospreay has been on an absolute tear for the past two years, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that two of his matches topped this list.
It's safe to assume that many of his best performances in 2024 will be match-of-the-year candidates.
In fact, The Aerial Assassin's first Dynamite match as a full-time member of the AEW roster with Kyle Fuller could easily make the cut.
However, his first AEW PPV match against Konosuke Takeshita at Revolution was a standout affair on an exceptional card.
1. Bryan Danielson vs. Will Ospreay, AEW Dynasty
As of now, Bryan Danielson vs. Will Ospreay is the best match of the year, and it's hard to imagine anything will change that.
The storytelling and perfectly executed counters were top notch, and the finish left a lasting impact on the British star.
Danielson has had so many amazing matches since he joined AEW, but this was an instant classic.
The St Louis crowd remained fervent throughout, and two of the best wrestlers in the world gave them a show they will never forget.
