Rich Piana was an American bodybuilder and businessman who had a net worth of $4 million. He was born in Glendale, California in 1970 and passed away in August 2017 at the age of 46. Piana was Mr. California in 2003 and 2009 and owned a line of nutrition products called Rich Piana: 5% Nutrition.
During his 25-year career in bodybuilding competition, Piana admitted to using anabolic steroids as well as synthetic human growth hormone. He believed that it was necessary to use steroids and was willing to take the risk. Piana started weightlifting at the age of 11 and won several titles by the time he was 18, including Mr. Teen California. Throughout his career, he won various competitions, such as the 2009 Border States Classic Championships and the 2009 NPC Sacramento Pro.
However, Piana’s use of bodybuilding enhancement drugs likely contributed to his sudden cardiac arrest, which led to his death on August 25, 2017.
