Personal Statement
Personally I have many dreams and goals I wish to achieve. My goal as of today regarding baseball is to play at the highest level possible. I want to find a school that not only has a solid baseball program, but is exceptional in the classroom as well so after baseball, if the pros are not an option, I can go off into the work field and use what I have learned at school everyday in my life whether its with a job, raising a family, or normal interactions that one experiances every day in society. School is just as imporant to me as baseball and i thrive to succeed and put forth my best effort each and every time I take the field or enter the classroom.
In terms of baseball, I would love to get drafted, play professional, continue to improve, and one day make it to the major leagues. I definately have the work ethic and passion needed to achieve my goals. In terms of school, I want to be an honors student like I am at my high school, join student activities and clubs, and out of high school one day become a general manager for a professional sports team preferably baseball.
I am looking for a school along the east coast no matter what state as long as it fits my needs and is my perfect school. I want to play at the highest level possible but I also want to play my freshman year or sophomore years. I am looking to major in Business Management and minor in Sports Management or double major in Management and Finance. Success of the school academically is just as important as the success of the baseball team. Due to my families lack of financial funds, as most families these days, I am looking for as much scholarship money as possible combined with my grades, baseball, and personality as a young adult.
Currently, I work at a new batting cage facility called Double Play Sports & Fitness in our town. I give baseball lessons, coach camps with Worcester Tornadoes Professionals Nick Salotti and Brendon Kellieher, and I work desk and manage the companies financial intake to an extent.
I have been playing ball since I was 3 and it has grown to be one of the most imporant things in my life. Growing up around the Redsox, i have had idols from Nomar, to Trot Nixon, to Dustin Pedroia. All of them are similar in the way they play the game. They give 100% everytime they take the field. They never hold anything back. And none of them ever let anyone put them down. Just because Dustin is 5'9", clearly he isn't "too small" because as far as I am concerned, a MVP is never too small. Being a 5'9" second basemen myself, not only do I know anything is possible, I know hard work, determination, and sincere effort each and every second I am on the field, will help me fulfill my desires to achieve a college scholarship and eventually play professionaly. I have the determination, talent, passion, and work ethic to get it done.
With me playing for your team, I will bring an extremely positive attitude and give 100% percent on the field and in the classroom. I lead by example and I believe that no one should ever dog anything because you never know who is watching. I live by never putting you head down because if you make a bad play and your head falls down, odds are you will repeat it numerous times there on out. I wwill pick a teammate of mine up whenever they are down and do my best to be a role model in every way I can.
I am completely dedicated to playing ball as the average day for me is school, team practice, coaching lessons, and then private lessons before I get home at 8. I will bring speed on the basepaths, a good glove in the middle of your infield, lots of range at 2b or SS, a solid arm, and a contact hitter with a solid amount of power. Thank you for viewing my essay and hopefully you enjoy the profile I have assembled.
