Barkley Is Spark Plug of Nittany Lions Offense
Barkley rolled his ankle on a second-half carry, as the Nittany Lions were attempting to ice out a win that would give them the Big Ten East. The school soon ruled him out, per Dr. Saturday of Yahoo Sports.
Barkley left Penn State's Week 3 win over Temple briefly after he suffered a minor calf injury, but the ailment wasn't enough to keep him out of action for long.
The sophomore has been a revelation for the Nittany Lions since he burst on the scene in 2015, and his production has been a major reason for Penn State's return to prominence after a half-decade of frustration.
Barkley has tallied 228 carries for 1,219 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2016.
