Sarah attended Branksome Hall before studying theatre at Dalhousie University. Her family celebrates both Christmas and Hanukkah, as her father is Jewish and her mother is Protestant.

Sarah Levy started her acting career as her father’s assistant on the set of “Cheaper by the Dozen 2” in 2005. She appeared in various short films, TV series, and movies, including “Larry Crowne,” “XIII: The Series,” “Working the Engels,” and “Baroness Von Sketch Show.”
In 2015, she landed a role in the hit TV series “Schitt’s Creek” as Twyla Sands, a Café Tropical waitress, and later owner. She appeared in 63 episodes over six seasons and said that she loved playing a character that was not a member of the Rose family.
