Personal Statement
A friend recommended water polo, so I tried it out. At this point, I had no idea what water polo was. Once I started playing water polo, I fell in love with it, and I hope to keep playing my whole life. During the very beginning, I didn't understand anything and got upset when I made mistakes. Now as I head into 6+ years of playing, I understand that mistakes are part of the process. Water polo has helped me not only physically, but mentally too. This is one of the most important lessons that water polo has taught me. As you can see, water polo is a significant part of my life, and pursuing it in college is important to me. Although water polo is a huge part of my life, it is important to keep in mind that it is not my whole life. Academics, family, and creative arts to name a few are also parts of my life. As a 4.0 student going into sophomore year, I cherish school almost as much as I am passionate about water polo...almost. Although grades say a lot, it says nothing about character. But, family and creative arts sure do! I am passionate about creative arts and hope to pursue something like it in college. I save the best thing for last, family. Of course, water polo is necessary, but family is too. I believe that the difference between a great water polo player and a good water polo player is their values. I hope I've said enough to give you a peek into my life and make you interested to learn more about what makes me a great water polo player.
