T’yanna Dream Wallace was born on August 8, 1993, in New York to Jan Jackson and Christopher Wallace, better known as the rapper Biggie Smalls. Her parents split up when she was eight months old, and her father began selling drugs again, prompting his producer, Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs, to force him to quit. T’yanna was just three years old when her father was murdered in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles. Before his death, Biggie set up a trust fund for T’yanna’s education. She has a half-brother, Christopher Jr., from Biggie’s marriage to singer Faith Evans, who played a young version of his father in the 2009 biopic “Notorious.”

T’yanna attended Penn State University and graduated in 2015 after spending a year working in the school cafeteria.
