1. Sandiaga Uno Invites ASEAN Members Airlines to Open Direct Flight Route to Indonesia
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno invited a number of airlines from ASEAN member countries to open a direct flight route to Indonesia.
"Two days ago I attended [the opening of] a direct flight from Hanoi to Jakarta and Ho Chi Minh City to Jakarta and Denpasar before that, [and] I invite more airlines to open a direct flight to Indonesia. Jakarta and Bali as the centers of ASEAN but also other destinations [in Indonesia]. The dialogue with Laos and Cambodia [was for them] to increase direct flights in Indonesia," he said in an official statement on Thursday, September 7, 2023.
Sandiaga Uno explained that Indonesia has added more direct flights from Vietnam to Indonesia.
2. BMKG Says Air Quality Still Unhealthy, No Chance of Rain in Jakarta Today
The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) once again forecasted no chance of rain in Jakarta today, September 8, 2023. In the morning, all of Jakarta will see partly cloudy and partly sunny skies, and partly cloudy skies in the evening.
These days, rain is not only critical to help ease the dry season heat but also to reduce air pollution concentration in Jakarta. Without rain, the air quality in Jakarta is almost always deemed unhealthy.
This morning at 05:00 a.m., for example, the air quality index in Jakarta reached 168 with a PM2.5 concentration of 89.2 micrograms per meter cubic, the highest in the world. It was followed by Kuwait City, Lahore, Beijing, and Dubai.
3. Super Air Jet Opens New Pekanbaru-Kuala Lumpur International Route
Super Air Jet announced a new international route from Pekanbaru to Kuala Lumpur, starting September 26, 2023. "The flight will operate every day, or seven times a week," said Chief Executive Officer Super Air Jet Ari Azhar in a written statement received by Tempo on Friday, September 8, 2023.
For this flight, Ari said, Super Air Jet will use Airbus A320-200 with 180-capacity for the economy class. "The plane is suitable for millennials searching for comfort and style during their trips," he said.
"This [Pekanbaru - Kuala Lumpur] flight route offers various benefits for the youth who are ready to explore the world," Ari added.
