Tom Colicchio wife Lori Silverbush is a filmmaker. The couple has been married for the past 22 years.

Colicchio and Silverbush met at Gramercy Tavern, Tom was the co-founder of the restaurant and Lori was working there to fund her filmmaking career. It was back in 1994 when the two crossed paths which ultimately led to their nuptials.

According to New York Post, the pair dated for 7 years before deciding to get married in 2001. When it comes to the proposal, what can be a better idea than getting down on the knee with a ring while in a line at Second Avenue Deli for pastrami sandwiches? The chef did that very same thing. 

They got married in a lavish wedding ceremony on September 15, 2001, at Martha's Vineyard, singer Sonika Vaid's hometown. 

However, the celebrity chef and the filmmaker had to take a tricky decision, as their wedding was scheduled just four days after the tragic 9-11 attack they were considering postponing the nuptials.

According to Showbiz Cheatsheet, after consulting with their friends and family, they went ahead and got married on the intended day. Tom's ring had the words "don’t postpone joy" engraved, another factor for getting married on September 15. 

Unfortunately, 30 people from their guest lists could not make it to the wedding due to the tons of flights being grounded after the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. The pair also postponed their honeymoon to help rescue workers by cooking meals in New York City after the wedding.

Tom Wears Two Wedding Rings

Top Chef's top judge Tom wears two wedding rings. 

No, he is not married to two wives or married his wife twice for two rings, that's just ridiculous. However, there is a story about the two rings.

According to Showbiz Cheatsheet, Tom revealed that he lost his original wedding ring during the filming of Top Chef in Boston. His wife purchased another wedding ring for the chef to wear, she might have been mad at the beginning though. 

To Tom's surprise, he found the original ring a year later in one of his coat's pockets. The chef decided to wear both of his rings and Top Chef viewers have witnessed Colicchio rocking them on the show. 

Lori Silverbush Is A Filmaker

Tom's wife of 22 years Lori Silverbush is a director, producer, and screenwriter.

Lori made her directorial debut in 2001 with the short film Mental Hygiene. Since her debut, she has made two more films, a full-length feature film On the Outs, and a documentary film A Place at the Table, according to her IMDb profile. 

She also has credits as a producer for On the Outs and A Place at the Table. She wrote On the Outs herself as well.

According to Silverbush's eponymous website, her works have premiered at Sundance, Toronto, Berlin, and Tribeca Film Festivals, among others. Her films have also been released online, on television, and in theaters.

The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, and The Guardian are to name a few who have critically acclaimed her works. However, the filmmaker has not released anything since 2012.

Tom And Lori Have 6 Years Age Difference

Tom and Lori Colicchio have six years of an age gap between them. 

The husband is 60 years old and the wife is 54 years old as of 2023. Tom was born on August 15, 1962, in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Lori was born on February 14, 1969, in the United States of America. 

The couple has a unique date of birth, Tom's birthday coincides with India's independence day while Lori's birthday falls on Valentine's day. Tom wished a very happy birthday to his valentine on his Instagram account in 2022. 

Lori was 25 years old and Tom was 31 years old when the pair first met in 1994. They were 32 and 38 years old, respectively, when they decided to tie the knot in 2001.
