UVA Shooting Motive Reddit is buzzing everywhere. According to University of Virginia police, at least three football players and two other students were killed and two others injured in a school shooting late Sunday.
Christopher Darnell Jones Jr, the suspect, was apprehended by police on Monday morning after a chase throughout the night.
But why did he do that? What was the reason behind it? Let’s get to know about and facts.
How did it all happen?
A spokeswoman for the University of Virginia confirmed on Tuesday that one of the students who went on a field trip to attend a play with classmates is the individual accused of opening fire inside the bus which was riding in on the way back to school.
Christopher Darnell Jones Jr, the suspect in the shooting, was reportedly among roughly two dozen students who made the trek from the Charlottesville, Virginia, school to Washington, DC, on Sunday.
According to the police, Jones, a former football team member, opened fire on his old teammates, killing three and wounding two others, including another football player.
Panic ensued, and the school was locked for 12 hours before the perpetrator was apprehended on Monday, just outside Richmond.
At a press conference on Monday, University President Jim Ryan noted that officials fully understood neither the purpose nor the circumstances surrounding the killing.
Jones’s escape from the shooting scene remains a mystery to the authorities’ knowledge.

Students Reported
At that investigation, a student reported that Jones had mentioned having a pistol to campus officials. As the statement indicates, the student in question did not disclose any threatening behavior on the part of Jones.
Following an investigation, university administrators learned that in 2021, Jones had been tried and found guilty of a misdemeanor concealed firearms violation.
Mr. Jones was uncooperative with University investigators the whole time they were trying to learn more about the allegations that he possessed a firearm and his failure to declare a prior misdemeanor conviction.
“As a result, the Threat Assessment Team elevated his case for disciplinary action on October 27,” the statement read.
As a result of a spate of mass shootings over the previous six months, the country was already on edge before these murders occurred.
Over the previous decade, several high-profile catastrophes, including a student’s disappearance and murder in 2014, have rocked the University of Virginia, the state’s premier public university.
It was also the scene of violence during the 2017 “Unite the Right” rallies in Charlottesville, which attracted white nationalists.
It seems to me that the University of Virginia has been through a lot. Ellie Wilkie, a 21-year-old student who hid in her dorm room on the campus’s historic Lawn throughout the lockdown, stated, “I think we are a resilient group.”
She also said she hoped students would be given time to mourn the deaths and that the university would look into making any necessary systemic adjustments to prevent a recurrence.
