Former Detroit Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew was arrested early Sunday morning at a Dallas 7-Eleven convenience store following a disturbance.
In a video obtained and released by TMZ Sports, Pettigrew is seen punching a glass door after having a conversation with multiple police officers inside the store.
Pettigrew initially pulled away when an officer tried to arrest him, leading to the officers drawing their tasers. Pettigrew then relented and was handcuffed without further incident. It is unclear what initially led to the officers' arrival.
According to TMZ Sports, a Dallas Police Dept. representative said Pettigrew was charged with criminal mischief and was released from custody Sunday at around 1 p.m.
Pettigrew, 39, spent seven seasons in the NFL from 2009 to 2015, all of which were as a member of the Lions.
After he starred collegiately at Oklahoma State, the Lions selected Pettigrew with the No. 20 pick in the first round of the 2009 draft.
He was highly productive early in his career, with back-to-back seasons of over 70 catches and 700 yards in 2010 and 2011, but Pettigrew was used sparingly in the passing game later in his career with a total of just 17 receptions for 137 yards over his final two campaigns.
All told, Pettigrew appeared in 93 regular-season games and recorded 301 receptions for 2,965 yards and 17 touchdowns.
Per TMZ, Sunday marked the third time Pettigrew has been arrested since his retirement from the NFL.
In 2017, he was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct due to a disturbance at an Oklahoma City nightclub, and in 2018, he was arrested after allegedly punching a Pittsburgh police officer who questioned him about allegedly failing to pay for a limousine ride.
