Women's PGA Championship 2024: Amy Yang Wins 1st Career Major; Lexi Thompson Top 10 | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors

Amy Yang has finally won her first major.

The 34-year-old left Sahalee Country Club as the winner of the 2024 KPMG Women's PGA Championship, shooting seven-under to take a three-stroke victory.

This was her sixth PGA victory and her highest finish in a Major Championship. Her previous best was a second-place finish at the 2012 and 2015 U.S. Open and her previous best finish at the PGA Championship was fourth place in 2017.

She shot a 72 during the final round, and her score was driven by a 68 during the second round and a 70 and a 71 in the first and third rounds respectively.

She took home $1.5 million for the win. Other notable finishes include Lilia Vu finishing in a tie for second, Ally Ewing and Lauren Hartlage finishing tied for fifth and Lexi Thompson finishing in a tie for ninth.

The win catapults Yang towards the top of the 2024 official money earnings and she will look to build on that momentum going forward.

With a major now in her trophy case, Yang will look to add an Olympic medal as well when she represents South Korea at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
