Some twitter warriors commented on the ongoing situation. 

‘Is anyone going to bring up the fact that Cara Kernodle, Xana Kernodle’s mother, was detained on November 19 on drug-related charges and is being held on a $50,000 bond,’ as Twitter user @OSUBucks89 asked. 

The user also included screenshots of the most recent inmate list from the Kootenai County Jail.

“That’s a really strong link and happened so rapidly after the murders of Xana and the roommates as to be irrelevant,” they said.

The mother of Xana Kernodle, Cara Kernodle, was detained on November 19 and is currently held on a $50,000 bond.

According to a Twitter user, there has been a long history of claims. She went by a different name on social media, but after viewing a picture of her two daughters, one of whom was plainly in the picture, it was determined that this was her mother.

A link to a 2013 warrant stating Kernodle from Rathdrum, who was allegedly fined $2,000 for driving without a license, was included after baseball writer Stacie Wheeler became interested in the conversation.

What happened with Xara Kernodle?

On the second and third floors of a Moscow, Idaho, off-campus apartment building, Xana, 20, her boyfriend Ethan Chapin, 20, and friends Madison Mogen, 21, and Kaylee Goncalves, 21, were discovered dead from stab wounds on November 13. 

The killings are thought to have been carried out with a knife in the Rambo fashion when the students were dozing off.

According to reports, their housemates Dylan Mortensen and Bethany Funke were also present at the time of the killings but remained unharmed. 

After finding the bodies, they allegedly woke up hours later and dialed 911. Mortensen and Funke are not being treated as suspects in the crime, according to Idaho police.

Xana Kernodle’s father opened up about the incident 

Her father, Jeff Kernodle, spoke out to honor his courageous daughter.

He said that Xana had bruises on her body as evidence that she had retaliated against her attacker in an interview with Arizona source 3TV/CBS 5.

The grieving father commended his daughter for being a strong and capable woman.

He asserted that ‘she wasn’t especially concerned about drama or other issues. She never gave the outside world a thought; all she cared about was having fun.’

He claimed, ‘Chapin and Xana had been dating for more than a year. I had last seen her a week before I went up there, and she had undergone significant change.’

‘Her life was full. She experienced what it was like to live with a boyfriend. She then actually made a U-turn. She was incredibly accountable, assisting him with his education and other things. Honestly, I was very impressed.’ He bragged.
